Clients I’ve worked with include MayaData (VPE position transforming their global engineering), MoistureGuard (as CTO designed the IoT platform and hired team to build it), DTOne (built their data platform).

Advising CEO and CTO on various business and technological topics. Helps with defining processes and strategies of the company. Designed distributed backend architecture for running computational jobs and for collecting logs and metrics. Technologies used include Kafka, heka, ElasticSearch etc.

I kept an eye on the overall architecture, helping others understand, operate and extend the platform. I was responsible at both the technical and human levels. I’m always looking for what’s coming next so we can keep ahead and choose our path wisely.

I directly managed the team of engineering team leaders. We have grown from 8 to 150+ people within last 3 years.

Our platform was developed completely in-house, and we are capable of delivering on demand video streaming around the world. I have chosen microservices as the way to go from the very beginning (2013), we ended up with 150+ different services running in more then 1100 containers. Internal logging and even processing infrastructure was crunching over 4 billion events every day. We also built own encoding platform and CDN for content distribution across Africa. Encoding platform is capable of h.264, h.265 (HEVC), VP9 and has experimental support for AV1.

Overseen implementation of GDPR as well as various media compliance requirements as we have got access to the high-quality source materials.

I navigated Showmax through IPO (un-bundling) process. This resulted in Showmax being part of newly created MultiChoice Group (MCG) listing on Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Platform was acquired by Peacock (NBCUniversal) during 2023 and became Sky Streaming.

Designed and lead implementation of the whole streaming and backend infrastructure. Overlooked implementation of front-end applications, such as JavaScript based front-ends (web, mobile, embedded devices such as SmartTVs), native apps on Android and iOS. Embracing DevOps culture in delivering high-scalable solution with private cloud infrastructure, CDN and monitoring. Overlooked integration with 3rd parties, including various payment gateways (such as PayPal, BrainTree and others).

Defined a company vision and strategy. Designed a distributed, high-scalable and fault tolerant platform for IPTV and VoD Services delivery. Led preparations of customized solutions. Supervised and defined the corporate processes. Defined corporation business strategies. Led development and implementation team. nangu.TV platform is based on work of ITonis Inc.

Used by various operators around Europe, for example Telefonica O2 Czech Republic (O2TV).

Designed plaform now acquired by Alnair and shipped as nangu.TV. Led installations in the customers premises. Led and supervised technical aspects of negotiations of cooperation in China.

Designed IPv4 and IPv6 layer of the PragoNET’s backbone. Led roll out of IPv6 and MPLS services into the backbone. Supervised AS peering and key application servers (name server, network man- agement system servers, etc.). Designed and supervised realization of key customers’ projects (e.g.

National Trade Licenses Registry, DHL Computing Center, Decentralized system for TLD .cz). Led integration with Deutche Telecom TGN.
